Instruments
I started exploring electronic instruments after attending a seminar at Brooklyn College where I learned how to build a simple oscillator. I had already gained some experience tinkering on my own with electronics and Arduino, but after that seminar and even more so when I took the Building Electronic Music Instruments course at Brooklyn College, my focus went into electronic instruments. The ultimate goal is to build a modular analog synth, but I need to spend more time learning first.

The original Snot Box circuit design was taken from the sequencer project in Nicolas Collins' "Handmade Electronic Music" with some minor adjustments. Once I built a working instrument, I put the circuit into a tissue box to make it portable (hence the name 'Snot Box').

After carrying around the original Snot Box for a little while, I took the sequencer and expanded the design by adding 4 LFOs, 2 VCOs, a selector switch to change the number of sequencer steps, waveform selector (square and triangle), an octave switch, and volume knob. I also introduced a few photo-resistors to manipulate some of the oscillators including one to vary the length of each sequencer step. Many of the modifications come from more projects in "Handmade Electronic Music".
